Clyde, February 1828

The sloop Clyde, from this port to Glasgow, Joseph Russell, master, laden with wheat and flour, has been driven ashore in Tramore Bay, early on Saturday night last and abandoned by the crew. On account of the heavy sea and stormy weather it was found impossible to board her. When the weather moderates it is expected that part of the cargo will be saved.[1]

The sloop Clyde, of Kincaedine, Joseph Russell, master, bound from Cork to Glasgow, with a cargo of flour and grain, was wrecked on the rocks of Rhineshark harbour in Tramore Bay, early on the morning of Monday last; the crew with difficulty were saved. Part of the flour has been saved, but the vessel has gone to pieces.[2]
