Shipwreck
It
would appear from the following letter, to the editor of the Waterford Chronicle, that a vessel must
have been lost somewhere along this part of the coast of Ireland:-
Tramore,
21st Nov. 1832
Sir,
I beg to inform you that a board, 4 ½ feet long, (such as vessels names are
generally written on,) was picked up near the Coast Guard station here, this
morning, on which the word “Victory” is written in large yellow letters on a
black ground. Chief officer, Coast Guard. J. Hull.[1]
