Unknown, 12 December 1829

Shipwreck: On Saturday night, a large ship, timber laden, was driven on shore at Turf Cove, to the westward of Tramore Bay, and near the island Icane. No person was on board and it is supposed that she was abandoned by the crew before she struck.
She was about 500 tons burthen, coppered and copper fasted, and was British built. The wreck has been so complete that her hull and spars were floating in fragments along the coast. Her name or destination has not been ascertained, but it is conjectured from the description of the timber, that she was from one of the lower ports of British America. About half of her cargo has been secured.[1]
