Asia, 24 April 1822

The Asia, Otes, of & from Boston, ran on shore in Tramore Bay, near Waterford, on Monday morning, but it was expected would be got off.[1]

About six o’clock yesterday morning, the brig Asia, of Boston, from America, for Liverpool, with flaxseed staves, ran up the inlet or little harbour of Rhineshark, at the eastern side of Tramore Bay, and stranded at Summerville. The vessel is likely to be got off without any damage, crew safe. The escape of this vessel from destruction was in a great measure owing to the uncommon height of the tide.[2]

The cargo of the Asia, Otes, stranded on Monday morning at Summerville in Rhineshark Harbour, has been landed; she was expected to be got off last night.[3]
